Healthy teeth

Looking after your teeth is essential for your health. Dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease can have a serious impact on your general health and wellbeing.

Brushing your teeth can prevent gum disease and improve your overall health too. Information about the health risks of gum disease can be found at NHS Choices.

Further information about dental health including how to look after your teeth can also be found at NHS Choices.

It is also important to have regular check-ups with your dentist, go to NHS Choices for details about how to find an NHS dentist.

Dental access centres have been introduced across the county for urgent dental care where it is difficult to find a dentist offering NHS treatment. An appointment is needed but some do have evening and weekend drop-ins. Follow the link to find your nearest Dental access centre.
